What are the differences between the Joli OS Windows Installer and a Partition install?

Partitioning

When you install Joli OS with the Joli OS Windows Installer (Joli OS Express), the program sets up the Joli OS partition in a big file and boots from it. For Windows, you just have a file the size of the partition. The Joli OS Windows Installer is very easy and requires minimum effort.

The Jolicloud USB key installs a real partition on the side of Windows or your other OS. During the installation you need to decide how much space you will give to this partition.

Hibernation

Since the Joli OS Windows Installer uses the Microsoft NTFS file system, there is a chance that hibernation compromised your configuration. Because of this chance, we have disabled hibernation from the Joli OS Windows Installer installs, however we hope to have this resolved in a future release.

Please note that suspending your netbook works as well with the Joli OS Windows Installer as with an ISO Install since it only uses the RAM data storage.

Your suspend "image" is stored in RAM and your netbook is configured to boot into the last OS-state it left off at. This results in no chance for Windows to affect Jolicloud in the same way.there is a chance that the image can become corrupted. Startup

When booting the Joli OS Windows Installer, additional time is spent due to to the Windows boot loader, and because the Joli OS file system actually exists as a Microsoft NTFS file.

The Windows boot loader adds a couple of seconds as its prompt to you on what you want to boot into.

Microsoft NTFS file system lowers overall performance ever so slightly, but its actual impact is negligible.
